Platinum Range - Genuine Sheepskin
The ultimate product – unsurpassed in quality function and looks. The natural properties of genuine sheepskin cannot be imitated by knitted wool or fleece products! There is almost no chemical treatment of the wool, it is 100% natural.
The extremely dense nature of the wool combined with the upright position of the fibres, allows air to flow through for excellent circulation, providing padding and ideal pressure distribution, eliminating rubbing, pressure points and heat build-up on the horses back. Natural sheepskin also provides extremely high sweat absorption; the wool fibres are capable of absorbing eight times their own weight in moisture before they even begin to feel wet!
Gold Range - 100% Knitted Fine British Wools
When Mattes manufacture knitted wool the wool is shorn from sheep and sent to the mill for knitting. This means that the natural barbs in the wool - so essential for holding moisture, are, by the law of avarages,only likely to remain with 50% pointing upwards and 50% downwards, because of the fibres mix during knitting.
This must reduce the ability of the fibres to hold as much moisture as genuine sheepskin, where all the barbs face the same direction. Nevertheless we are confident that this 100% knitted fabric made in the UK, from the highest quality 100% British fine wool selection, to an extremly dense specification, is probably the highest quality knitted wool fabric available in the world today. The wool is specially treated and guaranteed not to matt or felt. The very best product after the unsurpassed Platinum sheepskin range.
Silver Range - 100% Knitted British Wool
Made in the UK from 100% British knitted wool, this product is offered to give our customers the choice of a coarser wool type than our silky fine Gold wool whilst retaining the excellent easy care characteristics of a knitted fabric. Competitively priced in the market place, but made to the same exacting quality standards of the Platinum and Gold ranges.
Bronze Range - 70% Polyester 30% Merino Wool Mix
This is an amazing product developed to give us a highly competitive range. It is made in the UK and it is exclusive to Mattes worldwide. It is made from 70% polyester with a 30% merino wool, to give a fabric of exceptional density whilst still retaining a reasonable ability to absorb moisture. A hardwearing, economical product made to the same high standards as the Platinum, Gold and Silver ranges.
